Thanks to the work of Torsten Fabricius, Tiki Essentials will soon be available in German as a paperback and ebook! And hopefully, we'll work on translating Tiki for ~~Dummies~~ Smarties, too!

Remember, Tiki Essentials is published under a Creative Commons Copyright, so you're free to translate (or update) it in your native language. Feel free to contact me if you want to work with me in publishing a paperback or ebook version.

Showing what's possible with Tiki

Because of the huge number of features and options, Tiki is a viable solution for nearly any sort of website. My latest project is to create an extensible list of Tiki use cases (based on the ones listed here) including (if possible) the necessary YAML for each. Then, I plan to release each sample as a dedicated Tiki Profile.

I've started working on these, over here.

I'm proud to announce the immediate availability of Tiki Essentials in eBook format. Once again, I've self-published published through LuLu.com, in ePub format, and it should appear on Apple's iBookstore in a few days. For Kindle users, I also created a Kindle-specific version (MOBI) and it should appear on Amazon shortly.

As with the paper version, this eBook is being published under a Creative Commons license. You are free to improve upon my work and republish it, as your own contribution to the Tiki Community. Be sure to see the full copyright statement for complete information, including proper attribution.

Tiki Essentials: The eBook Edition

Several folks have contacted me, inquiring about an eBook version of Tiki Essentials.

Since Tiki for ~~Dummies~~ Smarties is currently with my editor, I've had time to explore this possibility. I've been playing with Sigil, an open source eBook editor, and the results have been promising!

By publishing Tiki Essentials in ePub format, it will become available on the iBooks store, in addition to LuLu and Amazon.

The ePub format can be read on many different devices, including the iPad and Android. The following table contains the details:

The Amazon Kindle does not support ePub, but I'm thinking of a separate, Kindle edition, too!

If I price the eBook edition at $8.99 (USD) is there a market? For comparison, the Using Drupal eBook is $19.97 on Amazon.

Is it worth the effort to have a Tiki presence in the eBook market? What do you think?

On the Best Seller List

Tiki Essentials is now ranked in the top 500,000 on Amazon.com and the top 34,000 on LuLu.com! There's still quite a ways to go before I get listed on the New York Times list, but I safely say that Tiki Essentials is the number one (OK, the only) Tiki guide of all-time!

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me throughout the project. And look for the printed version of Tiki for ~~Dummies~~ Smarties.
